Plush Review: Diane Koss aka Cutesy But Not Cutesy

Today I'm reviewing an extremely popular monster maker: Diane Koss. Diane has been making elaborately horned,(mostly) one-eyed monsters for years. She typically makes small monsters (between 5 and 10 inches) and large monsters (12 inches and up).Using quality faux-fur and recycled eco-felt, she sews these guys by hand. That's right - no machines whatsoever! You'd think a hand-stitched doll would only be suitable for display but according to many of her customers these dolls hold up remarkably well to children and even pets! Her dolls have been in art shows and displays, and are also popular at craft markets.
Although the large monsters are a bit cost prohibitive (65$ and up depending on size, materials and how elaborate the horns are), the smaller monsters make great affordable gifts ranging from 20-36$. I own several large ones and they are stunning and eye-catching!

My wibbly's here!

Sounds like a dirty statement, doesn't it? I assure you its not. What it
is is awesomeness! From the mind of Abbydid came the guy pictured above.

Not only is he cute, he's remarkably well-made. I think even toddlers would have trouble finding a way to rip him apart, despite Abby's kindly caution against giving him to those under three. Hardly a surprise, given that everything that goes through her sewing machine also passes under the watchful eyes of her adorable kids. As an added bonus, he has a little "pouch" for a mouth, making him ideal for storing teeth (she can even make a custom tooth-fairy wibbly if asked nicely :), or any other trinkets you might want tucked away. He doubles nicely as a pillow, although I imagine her jumbo-sized Wibblies are even better for that, being about twice the size at about 14" x 14", made of some of the best quality fabrics on the market including Flurr-brand fleece, and VERY reasonably priced.

On top of everything else, shipping is cheap, swift and he comes beautifully wrapped in cellophane along with some extra surprise "goodies", which I won't spoil the surprise for-you'll just have to order one yourself. Or maybe two.
